FAQ

Questions we get

How spicy is Hot, really?

Hot has a real kick and it stays with you. Mild isn't timid either — it's seasoned the same way, just without the heat carrying it. If you're buying for a table with a range of people, the Triple Pack lets you mix.

Is this like beef jerky?

It's not jerky, and it isn't trying to be. Kilishi is cut thin, worked by hand with a spiced coating, and dried slowly — days rather than hours. It eats denser and more seasoned than jerky does.

What's in it?

Beef, a spiced coating, and time. It contains peanuts and soy — the full ingredient statement is printed on every pack. There's no peanut-free version, because the peanut is what makes it kilishi.

How much do I get?

It's dense. A 2.2 oz pack is about five servings and carries roughly 30 g of protein — 6 g in every 12 g serving, so around half its weight is protein. People who expect a jerky-sized bag are surprised by how small it looks and how far it goes.

Does it need refrigerating?

No. It's shelf-stable. Once you open a pack, reseal it and keep it somewhere cool and dry, and check the best-by date printed on the back.

Where is it made?

New York. We make and pack everything ourselves on our own equipment — no co-packer, no production line. The beef comes from a federally inspected supplier.

How fast does it ship?

Within three business days, and most orders arrive inside a week. We pack two to three times a week, so it goes out on the next packing day after you order. Free over $50.

Can I buy it for my store?

Not yet — we sell direct to households while our USDA-inspected production is in progress. Join the trade list and you'll hear from us first.
